iTrackHockey collects all of the required information simply by recording easy screen ‘taps’ on your mobile device during a hockey game.  By simplifying the data collection process and delivering visual and statistical results, iTrackHockey can enhance anyone’s ability to easily access historical game and player information.

View Stats during the game:

During a game, a user can record multiple ‘events’:

  • Shots (on net, missed shots, and blocked shots)
  • Goals (who scored, assists, on-ice for plus/minus)
  • Face-offs and Penalties
  • Icing and blocked shots
  • Shot Position on goal
  • View team and individual player stats on shots, missed shots, goals, assists, and face-offs (complete hockey statistics for minor hockey)
  • Review previous games against opponents before your next game

Events can also specify even-strength, PowerPlay or PK.

All events are easily recorded QUICKLY, with a couple of screen taps. Stats are collected and displayed on the screen upon request (including play-back of game events).

At the end of the game, the user receives a detailed game report via email, including season-to-date totals.

What is iTrackHockey ?

Online Access to Your Games

Season subscribers can access their teams and games via iTrackHockey's Web Portal. The portal includes the ability to change goals/assists, reprint your reports, access additional reports, etc.

How does it work?

We were looking for a hockey stat collection App that would be easy to use.  Since we couldn’t find one – we decided to develop iTrackHockey.

The premise of this App is simple: Provide people like us with the EASIEST way to collect hockey stats for minor hockey teams.

Do I need to be using Wi-Fi for the app to work?

  • No. The App works OFFLINE; our assumption is that there is no connectivity while you record stats.
  • The only time you need connectivity is: (a) To purchase game-tokens (since it is done from the App store), and (b) To receive your game report.

Can I review stats after a game without the reports?

  • Yes. You can view stats while you record the game (bottom left STATS button). You can also view stats for your game(s) after they are completed – for any game on your device.

What is the report that is emailed? Is it included in my cost?

  • Your game reports are included in your cost; simply click on EMAIL REPORT (while you are connected) and the game reports are emailed to you automatically. You can also resend any desired game report upon request (connectivity is required).

  • Each game report includes about 9 pages (!) with sections highlighting specific components of your game as well as year-to-date totals.

Are we allowed more than one user for the coaching staff? Can you connect to or sign in on multiple devices?

  • Each user tracks specific teams – but you can log on with the same user from multiple devices. When you log onto a new device with the same user credentials, the team, roster and competitor teams are automatically downloaded to the other device (can be Android or iOS).

  • You can then record a game on the second device (or third device, etc) – and receive your game report. Your year-to-date accumulating stats will update accordingly, however, each device will only store the games recorded on that device.

  • Credits cannot be transferred between devices (at this time), so you will have to purchase game tokens for each device.

Does the App record Assists?

  • Absolutely! It also tracks Plus/Minus and Points 🙂
  • When a goal is scored, after tapping on the goal scorer (highlighted in green), tap twice on another player, which is highlighted in yellow (assist). If you tap 3 times on a player, it is highlighted with GREY (on the ice). Therefore, for each goal you can mark 1 goal scorer, up to 2 assists, and up to 3 one-ice players that will receive a PLUS.
  • Finally, when you record events (the screen that lists the player numbers), if you tap (top of the screen) on the penalty-kill or power-play buttons, the App automatically adjusts plus/minus since a player does not get a PLUS point if the team scores on a power-play, etc.

Can I change Results AFTER a game is complete?

  • After a game is complete, and before you send data to the server, you can change goals / assists for a completed game. This can be done from the STATS page by clicking on the heading GOALS.
  • This way, you can update the assists and +/- after the period or after the game. Once you send data to the server, you cannot modify any more events. We are working on a portal version, in which users will be able to view, run reports, and possibly update stats using their browsers. This will be released in the coming weeks.

When adding a team, why does it show under the Opponent tab?

  • When adding a team to the iTrackHockey app, the team exists under the Opponents tab until 6 or more players have been added to the roster. Once the team has 6 or more players, it will appear under the My Team tab.

We are competing in 3 tournaments and I'd like create 3 new seasons (is this where I would add tournaments?)

  • When you add a game - the GAME TYPE field determines the season. Your report will group results based on your GAME TYPE.

Can the app link multiple users to input various game stats simultaneously?

  • In order to have multiple people record different stats for the same game:
  • 1. Have these people log onto the App with the same credentials.
  • Since tokens are device specific, please let us know AFTER these users logged onto the device and we can transfer tokens between devices.
  • 2. Have both users record stats (for the same game) FROM THE SAME SIDE OF THE RINK. This is done to ensure that the game orientation is the same (i.e. which team is attacking from the left in the 1st period).
  • 3. Ensure that both users record DIFFERENT stats for the same game. For example, one user can record shots and goals, while the other records icing, penalties, face-offs, etc.
  • If both users record the same event (e.g. a goal), the system will assume that these are different goals.
  • 4. AFTER the games are uploaded to the server, send us an email with the game numbers that you wish to combine. Linking them is a very quick action, but at this time this is only done by us.
  • Once this is done (we will email you), you can simply rerun your game report or access it on the portal - and it will include all combined events.
  • Note that combined games CANNOT be separated.

Why is it when I log on to my phone with the same user name and password my teams don’t show up?

  • 1. On your iPad, either complete a game and SEND DATA / SYNC (to send the data to our servers on the cloud), or click SYNC TEAMS (in MY ACCOUNT screen).
  • This will update the cloud.
  • 2. Then, on your iPhone, click on SYNC TEAMS, which will send all the teams and rosters to your iPhone.
  • 3. Although tokens are device-specific, we can transfer tokens between your device. Just let us know how many and we would be pleased to help.
  • 4. Games are recorded on a device and are uploaded to the cloud (art that time, you get your detailed report). Games are not sent from one device to the other.
  • We also have an add-on option to access all games on the cloud via the online portal (see itrackhockey.com for add-on options).
